A Surfeit of Coats.
Also, before Thanksgiving, I hit two Old Navy ridiculous sales when adult coats were 75% off, and then the next day adult sweaters were 75% off. I am budget conscious (I am, Todd.), and rarely buy clothing or accessories for myself, and even then it's usually from Target. I call Old Navy my boutique shopping.
But, a Celtic green peacoat? A delightful winter-white double-breasted swingy coat I could wear to make every day just a little bit fancier? A belted charcoal puffy parka, ideal for pulling Marley and Rudy in their wagon on our wintery trips to and from the bus stop? Let's just say it was like Treat Yo Self Day had finally, truly come for me.
And then, we had a family walk on a warm November day, and I was wearing one of my new coats, and sipping on a gingerbread latte, and let's just say it does not get much better than that. (Except that my joyful hilarity sputtered out about a third of the way through the walk, when Marley and Rudy both had trouble continuing, and Todd and I had to offer a lot of piggybacks and shoulder-rides and straight-up carrying for the last mile and a-half through the woods.)
