Little kids are awesome.

Last week, Marley was a guest speaker at her old preschool.  She was there to visit her teachers (clearly excited about the Patriots' playoff game) and to tell the class how kindergarten and preschool are the same and how they are different.  In case you're wondering, there's still homework, and there's more math, for starters.

One of the preschoolers listening attentively during Circle Time was our neighbor, whom I shall refer to as Mo-Mo to protect his identity.  And I mention this because I have to write about the conversation I had with him yesterday.  I was outside with Rudy, just before we left to purchase her celebratory Lalaloopsy toy, and Mo-Mo was outside by his tiny Mustang with his little sister and his dad.  I told him that Rudy had pooped in the potty, and then this is what happened next.

Mo-Mo (poised to sit in his Mustang): "Does she need those toilet covers?"
Me: "You mean like, the things that help her sit and it's like a cushion?  Yeah.  She does."
Mo-Mo: "I have one of those.  It's Lightning McQueen and it's awesome."
Me:  "Oh, yeah.  Cool.  We have a Sesame Street one."
Mo-Mo (casually, but interested): "Does it have Elmo on it?"
Me: "Yeah."
Mo-Mo (happily eating M&Ms while switching seats): "Oh!  That rocks!"

Okay.  None of the conversations that I have had with adults lately have made me as happy as the one I had with Mo-Mo yesterday.  He was genuinely excited about the Elmo on Rudy's toilet seat.  And that is just one of the reasons why it is often so fantastic to hang out with little kids.
