A Fitting Portrait.
I am overwhelmed with events and milestones. I am tired and grumpy, and tonight I have earned the nickname my children gave me a few months ago: "Crummy Mommy." Sometimes they sing a tuneless little song called "Crummy Mommy, Mad Dad," which is as great as you imagine. It's mostly just saying that phrase over and over in a half-giggling, half-lilting way. But anyhow, lack of consistent rest has made me snappy, and it's because many things have happened in the past couple of weeks. Remind me to tell you someday about:
2. Camping on the Second Annual Girls'-Only Trip with Mary and Company.
3. Celebrating Marley's last day of kindergarten and Rudy's last day of preschool.
4. Handling two gym shows and one late-night dance recital, all in one day (see above).
5. Witnessing the terrifying middle-of-the-night fire that cost my best friend and neighbor her home. Really.
6. Planning our upcoming trip to Truro.
7. Preparing for the fourth move of my mother in less than ten years, and the third in five years.
8. That's sort of a lot, right? So the thing I'd most like to do is look at this picture of Marley and Rudy really, truly being Marley and Rudy and get to all of those posts later. Like tomorrow.
