Marley is a voracious reader, and although she's got a while to go before tomes like Harry Potter, and though she doesn't seem interested in Percy Jackson's Olympians, Eragon's dragons, or the Mysterious Benedict Society adored by one of her more precocious friends, she is a first-grader reading E.B.  White.  And because I am a mother who once treated herself to a special hardcover edition of Elements of Style, a mother who will be soon be re-immersed in the particulars of a high school English classroom, I know enough to feel thankful for this.
