Rudy sleeps.
Rudy had a hard time falling asleep this afternoon. I think it's because her gums are throbbing with new teeth. I don't think any will arrive for a while, but she can be a drooly, cranky mess sometimes, and she's usually so delightful, so something's up. Some infant Motrin, some back rubbing, and her nuh-nuh and Lamby helped her give up the sad fight she was waging. And now I'm blogging and Marley's hard at work on some illustrations. Like the one of a baby Marley on top of a monster. According to Bean: "She climbed up there and she's gonna sleep there with a pillow and he doesn't know she's gonna stay there every week!"
I love that Rudy Toot's sleep routine usually involves at least one of the following rituals:
1. She wags her head back and forth. But like she means business. It isn't a gentle settling down. It's a fast, hard set of reps. And then she hits the sweet spot and stops.
2. She arches her back and neck so far back that she looks like a C. And she smiles sleepily while doing so.
3. She rubs her face into a stuffy (see Lamby, above), smushes the stuffy into her face, and then she's done. Ni-nights.
