Rudy: a two-year-old.

Rudy's Baby Birthday Party was a success, even though I was still baking and frosting the cake an hour after her guests had arrived. (Toot's guests were simply, family, and Liz's family.) This party had been sort of planned in advance, but by the time it happened, it was all about throwing what I had together. I barely had time to shower and I certainly didn't have time to wash my hair, and then I forgot it was all pinned up weird but maybe it looks like a carefree sort of casual mess?

The important things: babies were cute decorations on the cake; Rudy could barely contain her excitement while opening gifts such as a small plush Princess (of course) chair and a plastic baby doll for the bathtub; and Marley sang "Happy Birthday" for her sister all excitedly while squeezing her and then smiled so, so big.

That's a different picture, I think. Oh, Owee.

Can he not eat milk now? Or has it always been that way? I though it was more wheat/gluten?

My little friend Owen is allergic to dairy, eggs, and nuts. And dust mites? I forget the total list, but the first three are the biggies. And I have another picture of him beside the cake with this sad, concerned expression. He's asking, "Does this have milk in it?" Poor Owee. But he totally rolls with it and Heather had an abundance of butter-free Rice Krispie treats for him to enjoy.

ah, i hadn't realized dairy was part of it but it makes sense since it's one of the top allergens. that's great... they have it figured out. we are about to cut out dairy for stella. going to be TOUGH since we live on butter and cheese.
