Making a Production Out of It.
Marley and Rudy have been spending a lot of time over the last week or so rehearsing for a double feature. Marley hung these posters, successfully created to attract an audience, on their bedroom door, and let's just say that I would wait in line for tickets to the performance. As for the first show, Tchaikovsky's classic Christmas ballet, I am intrigued by the sneaky Mouse King peering around from behind a cottage from the Land of Sweets, and I know that the costumes have impressive history as ensembles from Marley's first and second dance recitals. Also, I'm really proud of the "a" and the "e" in "Nutcracker." So tidy, Bean. Well done.
The second production is an original piece rather than a re-interpretation. In this play, Marley wears a black leotard with black tights and puts red blush on her nose, so she's a Cat. Rudy wears a Native American Halloween costume with a pirate hat and tap shoes, so she's a Mean Lady, specifically, a Witch. I've seen plenty of dress rehearsals, and I know that the chin-up bar where Marley practices portions of her gymnastics moves is a part of it, but I don't really understand the narrative. I do know that the director (also the promoter, the graphic designer, the costume designer, the head script writer, the choreographer, and the lead dancer and actress) wants the audience to have a good time.

Whether or not the shows are ever performed, I've been witness to the excited, cooperative, and let's not forget, fancy preparations. I have already enjoyed quite a show.
