Ooh La Lopsy!

Rudy loves her Lalaloopsy figurines, and last weekend, I treated her to a colorful set of Lalaloopsy sheets for her bed.  (I'm still heaping on the congratulatory treats for her consistent potty usage.  Keep it going, Toot.  Please, keep it going.)

I think these little dolls are pretty cute, and the tiny coordinating accessories they come with are the sort of thing I would've loved when I was little.  I mean, I like them now, and a few days ago Rudy and I sat on the living room rug together going through them all, and I was perfectly content.

And here's what.  Rudy's collection, and the way she plays with them, acting out adventures, and holding and speaking for the dolls so that they interact with each other, is something Marley has never really done all that much with her stuffed animals or dolls.  She's never had a bunch of guys that she's played with in that way, and now that I think of it, that explains why her doll house never got as much use as I thought it would.  Marley has just always preferred making things, organizing things, or setting things up.  She's more methodical, partial to books and puzzles, and let's not forget, make-up and accessorizing.  (Although, there was this.)  Marley doesn't make up absurd and intricate stories the way Rudy does.  Their preferred methods of play are so different, and it's just another example of how our kids are so like Todd and me in some ways, and so unlike us in other ways, and how different they can be from each other, too.
