Euphoric! Zany! Delighted!
Euphoric: On Christmas morning, Rudy was most pleased by the gift of one dozen small plastic fish that Todd and I gave her. When she opened the small white box and twelve of Twisty's cousins flipped out, she was ecstatic. So, for about five dollars, we totally made her Christmas. Several times that day she yelled, "Remember when I opened that box? And all the fish fell out? Wasn't that so funny?"
Zany: Still reeling from the pile of Twistys, she opened her keepsake book of Lambie pictures and reacted with trademark Rudy excitement.
Delighted: Santa brought Marley actual, as in, non-Crayola, art supplies. To begin, a special case with oil and acrylic paints, watercolors, colored pencils, and oil pastels. And then, thick drawing and painting paper, wrapped canvases, and an extra set of Cray Pas. I think she was proud that he'd recognized her talent, enthusiasm, and ambition, and while I mixed up a batch of chocolate chip pancakes, she got right to work. It was a very merry Christmas.
