Envying my Gentleman Cat.

Cats have it all figured out.  First, lounge around for the entire day.  Next, get up only to stretch and lazily make your way to a different napping location, preferably one with even more sun slanting in through the windows.

There is no sunlight in my house this afternoon.  It's rainy and cold, and therefore gloomy, and I would like to be curled up on my couch with no responsibilities, maybe with the fireplace crackling, snoozing off and on until I am all caught up on rest, ready to be adventurous and ambitious once the sun is out.  Except.  First: I don't think moms are ever caught up on rest.  And next: my pipsqueaky responsibilities are scurrying and whining and singing and homework-complaining all over the place.

And although I like to think I could come up with a couple of exceptions, I seem to have forgotten what it's like to be ambitious.
