Accompanied by Oliver

Our cat Oliver is affectionate, territorial, and mischievous, and for the past few weeks, he started walking with a pronounced limp.  It may be that he got into another neighborhood skirmish, or it may by that while leaping onto a shelf or a who-knows-what, he lost his footing.  Anyhow.  This limp is making him extra grumpy, and when I brought him to the vet's last week for a check-up, he was so hissy and yowling and all-around-manic that the staff couldn't get a look at him, and now he needs to come back sedated.

This is a marked change from Oliver's precious behavior one idyllic spring afternoon a few months ago.  He followed Rudy and me to Marley's bus stop, keeping up a casual, very nonchalant stroll and mewing quietly every so often to let us know he was just a house or two behind us.  And then after Marley got off the bus, he joined up with the girls so that they all walked home together.  It's just the sort of thing I want Marley and Rudy to remember about that rascally cat they had when they were little.
